Borovitza DUX 2015, Great Terroirs

The fruit of our many years of experience in the Bulgarian northwest, its original character has strengthened the opportunities of selected places to represent Bulgaria at the international level. It is obtained from the grapes of over sixty-year-old vineyards, grown on hilly terrain on the banks of the Danube, which are more resistant to the vagaries of the weather and treated with minimal technological intervention. It is bottled after a minimum of five years (sixty months) aging in Bulgarian and American oak barrels, which are not necessarily new. 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Merlot.

DUX is the magic with which we passed through a labyrinth of emotional motives and intellectual riddles. Because there is no more blessed job than cultivating the land and offering the table as exquisite a product as a fine wine. It shows how rich, elegant and reflecting in a specific way its origin can be a Bulgarian wine. These are things that are not related to sleek offices and marketing strategies, but to the distinctive character of the wine itself.

And while elsewhere the appearance of such a wine leads to revolutionary or at least serious changes, we can now enjoy the slow evolution of ideas about the effort of making and admiring the contact with such wine, because the memory of it will not fade.

And even the name suggests what to expect. Superlatives for it range from "classic" to "strong intellectual wine". The terroir is so exceptional that even five years of aging in barrels has not changed its character or endangered its finesse. But the most important thing is that through it we already know better the land on which we live and work.
